Growing Up

• LJ was looking at a Berenstain bear book called “New Baby”, his cousin was over and I was just getting ready to leave for the doctor when he started saying some of the letters out loud as he pointed to them . . . “B, A, what’s that?”, “B” his cousin answers, “Y” he says . . . It was so neat to see him identifying most of the letters, I hadn’t seen him do this before.
• We were driving by the street that his Uncle and Aunt live on, we didn’t pass their house, just their street; LJ says “[his cousins name] at home?”, I again was surprised that I don’t even have to get to the full destination for him to know where we are
• He is still struggling to get to the potty when we are out and about, he just doesn’t care if he’s wet, even if he is really wet. He is great at home and fully potty trained as he runs around in his little boy boxers. We just aren’t sure how to get him to go potty outside the house. All we can do is keep encouraging him and not pushing him.
• My husband had guy friends over last night for a guys night, LJ loved being a part of the guy group, and they were very welcoming to him too. This morning when my husband got LJ from his room LJ says “where are friends?”, my husband says “my friends went home”, LJ then says “let’s go find them”. It was funny.
• He has really been enjoying paperback books that have smaller words, gone are the days of board books with the large letters (well mostly gone, some are still accepted).
